    Hi guys

Quick question for you guys in the know!

I am about to start laying some Amtico form flooring in two rooms of my house.

Plywood SP 101 in one room and renovation screed in other room.

Will I be ok to use Stopgap 121 primer before laying tiles with Amticos HT adhesive?

    Many Thanks

Ply has been down a while now so thought primer would be best and will primer give me a little more time for glue to go off on screed possibly?
Just wanted to be sure before I go putting 121 down that I'm not making a mistake and shouldn't be using another primer of will the 121 be ok?

    Thanks

I know a few lads that always use 121 before pS glue

Don't prime before laying in HT adhesive
The adhesives needs to soak into the prep surface to get a good bond

Dry fit the floor, pull up in manageable sections,, relay in the adhesive wet

If you prime it will take a life time to set

Yes. Made that mistake. Dusty Reno. Thought I would prime it and we were using k66. Never again

To be fair most of it was ok but doing the hallway was a pig. Depends how big a area your doing. Wouldn’t do it again tho lol

That makes sense, I'm glad I asked now as I don't want to make things more complicated then they need to be.

    Thanks for advice

I've done this once before as well, turned out to be one of my most messiest jobs no matter how careful I was. That was with amtico's universal adhesive
