Just wondering if someone could explain how you split a big room into 2 for stretching, think the term is 'stay tacking'??? might be wrong there mind cheers

    How big is big?

I've had rooms say 9meter in length and I get it tight as possible with the kicker half way then 2nd half tucked in then just belt the hell out of it until it's sitting happy.

Not interested in power stretchers as it's rare I get long ass rooms

Stay tacking is an old school method You stretch with a knee kicker so far then do a row of carpet tacks to hold the Stretch then keep stretching repeating the process depending on how long the rooms is
    Pain in the arse

Where does it say I don't fit rooms 5m or longer?

Course I do but I'm on about longer than the average which brought me to the longer rooms.

Average size rooms I do mostly I'd say is up to around 5.50 - 6m in length but tbh I'm more Lvt the older I get o_O... Stairs/landings/bedrooms mostly in carpet then test lvt/engineered

We used to do this years ago, when we were fitting pubs out.
Turned an offcut of axi over, stretched out, then stop tacked through the offcut. Then stretch full length, and once its pinned on the gripper, remove the stop tacks.
Wow, its been a while since then

No, nails. When I started it was tacks, but then we used inch wire nails

I never used to fit this way, in anything but pubs/clubs.
Domestic always just used to use knee kicker.
    Don`t fit carpet anymore really

You could use anything to hold it in place, so long as it doesn`t damage the carpet

two of you working in tandem across the room .I have used this system on 50 mtre drops of wilton body, you can always stretch so far and pin through a wide piece of timber then stretch the rest of the way ,we used to do this to anchor a powerstrecher on long drops..
