Hi, I’ve a concrete floor which is partly covered with those black 1960s bitumen glued floor tiles. It’s reasonably level but was thinking of Amtico click with the integrated underlay, but was also going to lay another 5mm foiled underlay.

My thinking being the vapour barrier will be a good idea against the concrete and the 5mm will help level and lift the floor height slightly. This is good as I want to continue the LVT into the kitchen directly onto the tiles there too, which is higher.

I’m worried it’s a stupid idea as the double laminate could prove damaging long term. Should I forget it, and use a self levelling instead for a better base?

    All help welcomed.

Yes self level it. Too much underlay will cause problems for a already sensitive product

    Thanks.
Sensitive? Is the click vinyl not great? What’s recommended?
