hi, do you lot use a spray adhesive or a double sided tape to secure underlay on concrete subfloors? I know Health and Safety is an issue with wet adhesive like spray.

Also do you tape the joins of underlay? i brought some parcel tape to do this but had a complant about crinkle noises when walked on? Have i done something wrong?

ye spray should be used with care, mask etc and used in well ventalated area. You dont want to be causing the customer ashma attack or silular!

I try to use double sided tape when possible, its cheaper than spray also.

Parcel tape is not the correct tape to use and yes it will make noise when walked on. You should use a duct/cloth tape to prevent this.

Also the tape should be used to stop dust and movement of the underlay.

i find that i need to sick the gripper on almost all concrete floors even when im pinning them. Because of this i will run around the edge with a water based primer and apply with a paint roller. So i end up with a primed area for the gripper glue along with a primed area for double sided tape also.

Primer works out at penny's against priming with say spray adhesive.
