Hi Im new here, so hello everyone. A bit of history first. My wife and me have just recently started to look after her father who is disabled with one leg. The house has been converted for him to be able to exit the building with a ramp in the middle of house going down 2 steps into kitchen. The works for have totally skint us out and im looking for a way to cheaply do 65sqm of flooring thats heard wearing[wheelchair etc]. Marie is from a building background and im a Diyer, iv fitted our bedrooms etc with vinyl etc and a keen woodworker. Iv seen a job lot of amtico signature walnut 100sqm for £300 thats 3 years old, its been proffesionally lifted, but has some screed that might need removing. I dont mind the work scrapping off stuff, have a 12' jet drum sander. Is this even an option?, pitfals are a plenty, am i mad to think i can floor our house in it? If its just time, and a shit load of work but possible... we will have a go, but really could do with expert advise... we cant afford to waste £300 on and experiment. Many thanks in advance for any thoughts and suggestions. regards martin and marie
Soak it all in water for a day or so, until the adhesive is easy to scrape off, then hand scrape it all
3 year old, uplifted amtico floor with glue and screed on the back of it? dont waste your time and money. They should be paying you to take that away! Amtico is an expensive option for you and with the correct prep and fitting. Even if your getting it out of a skip. You’d be better off buying a cheap vinyl off the roll and glueing it down
