Morning all; my patner has a 1930s terraced house. It still has the original tiled mosaic floor which she wanted to refinish. It has seen 90 years of wear, there is a lot of damage - the yellow tiles in particular are very pitted. The worse ones I managed to remove and replace with ones I sourced of ebay. So I used a grinder with extension and a 150 grit pad that I would normally use for stone polishing. Together with a strong cleaning solution I managed to flat out most of the damage and stains - god was it messy! I then used a deep sealer before a top sealer before finally using a polish to give it a shine. For a first attempt I am relatively happy with it. But now it has a nice shine it hows up all the defects partidularly on the edge of the tiles - I want to minimise that. I read somewhere that people have used milliput? Has anyone got any top tips? Many thanks
You be best asking on the ceramic tile forums as well. Most of us are vinyl / carpet / wood flooring guys on here.
