    Hi all !
    I hope business goes well.
I have a question as a new guy here.
How much do you pay for your fitters?
I mean lvt, carpet and laminate.
    Thanks.

I don`t think thats an easy question to answer.
    Cards in/subbie
    What area
    How capable
    Day works or price
    Lots of variables !

    Good point.
Someone who has his own van, tools and is able to fit all floors with carpet, lamina and lvt. Commercial jobs like houses, private shops or care homes.

A big factor could be location as rates can vary a lot.
Are you looking a price work or day work.
We were offered some care home work last year, and the rates were very very bad. A mate had a go and lasted just a day.

Bristol, Bath area, so Southwest. It would be more of a day work. I am interested about rates not taking price work.
    Thanks.

I think 200 is fair as a day rate on good work. Plus expenses like fuel or materials used

Defo £200 - £250 a day nowadays, seems to be the going rate around the mids.
The work I sub out to 2 lads from Notts sent me a text week before Xmas saying their day rate is now £250 a day and they'll include the fuel to here in Leicester and because they're work is top notch I'd pay them £275 with fuel if I had to.

I wouldn't count materials. Fuel they should be able to claim if self employed.

You can claim Mileage off your tax bill that pays for the cost of running a van but I don’t think you can claim the fuel other than the vat if your vat registered?

I only charge or pay fuel if the jobs far away or we are going back and forth all week

You are good then. Most people don't pay for fuel.

Personally, I think it depends on the distance the job is.
If its more than say 100 miles return, I would pay a bit towards juice, and would also expect a bit if I was a subbie.

We pay ours dependant on what they do. could be anywhere between £150-£250 a day. We're South Bristol so cover the area you're saying.

Most jobs I have seen around Bristol are £20 an hour unless it is for trainee or something but I expect like you said it depends on the job.

Yeah, about the same really. Day Rate is 8hrs so not far off for the ones who only fit carpets.

Not really. Every now and then I enjoyed the pride of a job well done, but the vast majority of the time as an employee you were dealing with constant headaches of getting things done or cutting costs.

Then I turned 40 and decided I wanted off my knees.
