Mmm he must not be looking hard enough. There are all the same tools here as in the uk. Roberts , crain plus all the others are all here. We don't have felt backed carpets here , so don't need some of those fancy heat seaming irons.
apparently they dont sell concave blades in canada they use the snap off version of blade we use for cutting wallpaper
thats older than my one! Mine was orange and grey if i remember correct. Simmo, if that the one that uses the narrow silver backed tape or does it use the paper backed normal width tape? Personally (even tho the tape was thinner) i preferred the thinner tape and i used it with mine instead of the so called 'correct tape' Always found the 'correct tape' never melted enough. Possibly my machine was under powered for it ?
I remember the Orange one I think it was the smallest size that Silvaseam made. A company I did work for had one. I also found it under powered for long seams
But you earn more in the Australia compared to the uk and you have to forget the exchange rate as when you live and work in Australia you get paid in dollars and not pounds. Also the pound compared to the Aussie dollar has dropped a lot over the last 4 years which has made australia expensive for the uk.
