Hi. I am looking for a part time carpet fitter with a plain van looking for some part time work. High standard is essential, own tools essential, plain tidy van ideal. I can deliver large quantities of stock if needed for bigger jobs. Great rates for pleasant, punctual and skilled fitter. No fagging/swearing/on the phone all day need apply. Hard flooring fitter also wanted (could it be the same guy?), with LVT, latexing, vinyl, cap and cove experience. We have lots of herringbone/border orders. Can do attitude is a must, with someone who can work until the job is complete and think for themselves. We are a Small Independent Shropshire Shop with great clients and need some great part time fitters, could end up full time. Great punctual rates for right person (people). Unless it suits the fitter to do a short day etc, I rarely pay less than £200 a day and price work for competent fitter easily exceeds this. What you got?
Are there fitters out there on day rate for lvt? i refuse to work on day rate myself ,, most of the contract fitters i no , just toss it off on day money . 9 times out of 10 , i do twice what they do in a day
I don't work on a day rate either, sacked that off years ago. Refuse to do it because its always for a firm that has their own guys who think that the subby should do twice the work because we getting more money than them
I have a subbie fitter on day rate. He likes to work that way. He takes his time and does the job spot on which is what I ask. I have a cards in lad as well who’s good. Training 2 more up now as well.
I think there’s some ambiguity here. I don’t pay day rate, I meant that it’s rare that anyone on price ends up earning less than £200 a day on the meterage rate or any other rate we agree. I’d say it’s more like £300 for carpet and more for LVT.
