I have a hygrometer down on a 7 week old concrete floor , the readings are varying from 44 up to 92 ?? I'm presuming the builder has laid it correctly with a dpm , but it shouldn't vary that much should it ? im pretty sure it's fixed to the floor well enough . any help would be good , I'm waiting to lay some quick step
Could be...It might be an idea to test the meter on another sub-floor to see if the readings bounce around in the same way. You'll know it's the meter then...Nothing worse than loosing confidence in your meters. Depending on the control readings, and If the client is willing (financially), it could be worth suggesting installing a liquid dpm just to be on the safe side.
Yes I do have another one an analogue , will plant that next week , but that doesn't show min and max though
mmm left the digital unit in place, turned it off to reset it, turned it back on left it for another week , got reading from 47 to 95% temp 19 to 35 degrees, so no real change, its a south facing extension (like a conservatory) floor concreted up to the existing part which is floorboards, laminate flooring waiting to go down ? I might have to suggest a dpm( customer preferred it dried naturally) but was thinking the hygrometer shouldn,t vary this much, the customer saw them put the plastic sheeting before the concrete was laid. I phoned fballs and they didn,t seem to think it was that abnormal and suggested the liquid dpm. Just wondering what you floor layers on here think about the reading ?
Because the crete was absorbing the moisture from the clothes and effecting the reading. I found out by turning up without prior notice..lol Gave her whatfor and it was dry in a week...
I will ask the question then......great if it was that simple Are you talking a line or just one of them airer thingys ?
