Hello lads what screed would you use in a wet room with recessed shower tray in timber floor ? Also would you screed the tray ? What adhesive to stick polysafe hydro site formed up the walls onto ceramic tiles which are down to the floor ? Also is capping strip with a bead of clear silicone around the top to stop water getting behind the sheet good enough in your opinions ? Im thinking flexible screed such as ultra floor purple bag .

you cannot cove up the tiles as the water will get down the back silicone or not!

Take the first row of tiles off the wall and make good. Use cap tile but take the top lip off. Then stick that to the wall and put a bead of silicone between the top off the capping and the bottom edge of the tile. As for the floor if it's ply to the tray , which it should be I would feather and deffo use epoxy ! Or if the ply is rough use a fibre reinforced screed. Once the floor is down no water should get underneath if it's sealed/welded properly. You have to use epoxy on the plastic tray because most other addys work on dispersion. Well apart from ps and f60 but ps might take a while to go off and f60 will send you doo laly !! I think this makes sense but I have had a beer !

Ultra purple bag is only 'flexible' if used on a minimum of 18mm ply. In other words, it's not.

Thats what i was thinking about taking the bottom row of tiles out but the bottom cut is about 18 inch high. Anyone used f74 before in these type of installations ?

Don't use it! F81 or F84 will do the trick. I think F74is a polyurethane addy wher as the others are a two part epoxy.

700 + F46 on the floor + F60 up the wall as dannyboy said take bottom row of tiles out, gripfil cap tile in and seal the gap with silicone, as long as its fitted correctly and welded properly then it would be fine, ive never used epoxy on a cap and cove job as I have 100% confidence in my welded joints.

If you can take tiles off then fit cap tile strip 100mm high and then cut tiles back in, you can then tuck vinyl Into cap tile trim instead of using normal capping strip, I dont like the idea of vinyl capping in wetrooms

As above but i'd definatly use f60 'cause i'm doolally... would you put a bead under the bottom row first before sticking the capping dannyboy and then seal after ontop?

If don't want to mess on with the tiles though ? Clean the bottom row with degreaser & seal & smooth the grout with sticks like sh*t ! Use P shaped caping not mushroom & stick it with a full bead of sticks like sh*t ! Use f60 or 61 for coving & for vinyl to walls & stick to floor & tray with f44 ! RuIf your not used to it don't mess on with exopy its messy stuff. Wood floor should be plyd & feathered or flexy screeded if its bad but Don't screed the tray ! Glue the vinyl to the top of the drain with f60 to stop it bubbling up ! Good welding is the key & getting plenty vinyl up the capping & of course using all the adhesive properly !

Would you F44 the tray ! Surely it would never go off. Impervious on impervious.

F46 on floor and tray for me. (Touch wood) I have never had a problem. I just use an old Karndean trowel with F46 when fitting sheet....
