Hi All, When we removed this last row of yellow tiles we found this was the top of the foundation. The Dining room is concrete floor, then you step down 4" to the Den, which is tiled. The new Dining Room floor will be that floating plank system with rubber backing. The waffle pattern of gray stuff is leftover Mastic. Do we remove the Mastic and level this 7" wide section with concrete or mortar? What is typically done here so the Dining floor is flat and smooth all the way to the edge of the step down? This is a 50 second video showing the ledge issue:
Sorry all. I was restricted from posting my great pics because I'm a new member. Anyway, the top of the gray waffle pattern Mastic is level with the concrete floor. Do we remove this Mastic and build it up with concrete or some other product so it's level again? Then put down the plank flooring?
