Moving soon and would like to either get laminate or LVT/ VINYL. All through downstairs, ie hall area, livingroom and kitchen. The kitchen is 15.5m2. So feel it’s going to cost a lot, we are renting but would definitely still like to make sure it’s waterproof and look nice, but unsure what is the most affordable option or advice. As we have a baby too, Just unsure whether we need waterproof in livingroom for glass spills etc. Also is it nice to have the same flooring throughout ie if we pick a colour have it in all those rooms or hall area and livingroom same but kitchen different, I’ve been trying to find a dark walnut oak colour possibly but having not much luck, had also looked into groovy granite by invictus. Herringbone also seems in? any recommendations or pics would be great and advice as clueless (as you can tell with all these questions)
The cost will mostly come down to the preparation needed beneath the floor. Laminate is usually cheaper but not always as suitable in a kitchen area as lvt.
Definitely now thinking LVT for kitchen - is there a cheaper range out there would you say? (Just with renting) but waterproof still. Quickstep comes up and do like groovy granite but unsure if it needs professional if click version. Thanks
J2 flooring, projects floors uk, tlc flooring all cheaper than bigger brands like ‘karndean/amtico’ don’t be a tight arse when it come to paying for a decent fitter and prep work, if it’s fitted well it will last decades so worth paying the difference rather than replacing some click crap every few years
Thanks, had just been caught as with just renting and not yet moved in. Unsure how long we’ll be there but suppose thats the same with any house, also with baby and lower income. A company said for invictus groovy granite vinyl and fitted for kitchen area would be £1300 just unsure if thats good or bad. I know works on size but definitely don’t want to skimp but don’t want robbed either
https://www.j2flooring.com/products/?filter_range=rustic-textures This is the cheaper range of j2. As you’re renting and looking to keep costs down can’t fault this range. As mentioned it will all come down to the subfloor preparation.
