when purchasing smoothing compounds do you stick with a certain brand or do you use different brands for different jobs?
Generally stick with Balls stuff but use Ardex sometimes. I guess most people stick with what they know.
I normally use Balls and ardex. I have used uzins screed,but tend to stick to what you know Recently used some cheap laybond latex screedmaster!! Shocking stuff and the flow rate was really poor. Hippyfitter
Re: who is you preffered smoothing compound suppli We have used the laybond screedmaster I had worked the coverage out as per manufacture guide, priced the job and got the job, when we came to do the job we were 6 bags short at 3mm thick hows that ? we even used a gauge set at 3mm to pull through as we went along so I know we were right in thickness, have not had this problem with Ardex which we normally use, a lesson to be learnt.
