    Hi all,
I am after some advice please. Just got an old cottage and found real floorboards hidden under tiles. really want to rejuvenate and show them off, but not sure what type of wood they are, or where I can get some replacements for some that are damaged.

    Any help would be appreciated
    Thanks
    Mark

Probably Pine, try you local reclaim yard and don't forget to mention how old they are, so you need to find out when the house was built.

If possible, you can use some of the floorboards from part of the room that will be mostly hidden, to replace the ones in a noticeable area, then use the new ones to replace them

Also worth sanding the new boards a little before you fit them, just to make sure there are no unsightly stains in them
