My daughter wants me to fit some Karndean in her house. Not a problem accept I’d previously laid engineered hardwood glued directly to the sub-floor. It’s rock solid and will be an absolute nightmare to uplift. I’m thinking a sand of the wood then 2-3 coats of feather jobs a good un? Can’t screed over with a fibrous product as we don’t want to raise the level too much. If it was a client I’d insist on uplift but as it’s the family I may just go for it? Thoughts or any other suggestions? She doesn’t want loose lay must be stuck.

    Cheers all

It's whether your able to palm your daughter off when she's ringing you 3 times a day telling you there's a load more gaps appeared

Depending on conditions, you might get away with using a sticky underlay, like flexpro or the uzin one that i can't think of the name of right now

Ply it and leave ply 5mm short of perimeter and lay LVT. Risk but who knows.
