hi im a floor skills apprentice been doin the course for about 8 months and am looking for someone to take me on so i can put into practice what i am learning during this time i have been with other fitters however they tend to only cover carpet and i am looking at expanding into LVT and Vinyl etc i am from the norwich area and can drive so transport isnt a problem if anyone can help it would be hugely appreciated thanks in advance

Nice to hear your starting at the best possible place (floor skills) sound like you have a great attitude as well as training ! One day I'll be looking for someone like you but obviously near to me ! Hope someone is lucky enough to take you on & good luck mate !
Hi Rob I know I'm a bit late posting to this thread. I started the trade in Norfolk too so I know how hard it is to get an opportunity. Have you tried Reform flooring ? I did a small stint with them until they went through a quiet patch. Good bunch though. If all else fails you might have to bite the bullet and look further afield I moved to west London and touch wood I haven't been out of work since learning new things everyday. Also I'm hoping with the lack of youth coming through the flooring game we might one day earn the big bucks the old boys used to earn haha
Haha cheers mate I hope so too!! Yeah reform looked promising and invited me in for an interview however nothing ever came of it I'm sure something will pop up soon not everyone can say no right...
Yeah just keep trying mate like you say they can't all say no. I remember sitting with the yellow pages and ringing 50 odd numbers a day but it's paid off every time . Good luck. If you're ever at a loose end and fancy the odd week down here the firm I'm at are always looking for fitters and improvers they're just getting more and more work and not enough people to fit it. I travel back to Cromer nearly every weekend to see my bird aswell so sure something could be sorted out

Hello mate Yeah done some work with a couple of fitters who were really nice guys but nothing yet in the form of full time work so to speak I'm still in contact with a few people il just have to see what the new year brings

He's done a few bits with me before Xmas, and I've put him onto a flooring company who needs a help. Trying to hep get him a start with a company. Very good and a proper nice guy too. I'm sure something will happen and you'll get your break Rob. Keep at it.
