    Hello Forum,

I have recently purchased a 1870s ground floor flat.

I pulled up the existing floor coverings to reveal a frankenfloor! It would seem the suspended timber floor has been filled with concrete. Not the entire flat, the hallway still has the suspended timber floor but the kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom are all filled with concrete. Pretty sure there is no DPM, or if there was it was old school vinyl tiles. See pictures. Some of the existing concrete slab is bulging in areas and no longer level.

There’s also a drain in the bedroom

Ultimately i want a level floor throughout the flat, But totally out of my depth and really hoping some experts on here can at least shed some light on the best course of action.

    My eternal gratitude in advance.

    Paul

Those vinyl tiles may have asbestos in. They need to be remove. You can then put down a ardex na levelling
    Compound and liquid dpm system

Thanks for the replies so far.

Thanks for the asbestos warning, I thought the same.

Also well aware that this is above my pay grade…looking to get the right people in to do the work necessary.
