LVT scratch repair

  1. To repair a scratch on a luxury vinyl tile (LVT) floor, you will need the following materials:

    • A repair kit specifically designed for LVT (available at most home improvement stores)
    • A clean, dry cloth
    • A plastic scraper or putty knife (if the scratch is deep)
    Steps:
    1. Clean the area around the scratch with a clean, dry cloth to remove any dirt or debris.
    2. If the scratch is deep, use a plastic scraper or putty knife to gently remove any raised edges of the scratch.
    3. Follow the instructions on the repair kit to mix the repair compound.
    4. Use the applicator or putty knife provided in the kit to fill the scratch with the repair compound.
    5. Allow the repair compound to dry completely, following the manufacturer's instructions.
    6. Once dry, use a fine-grit sandpaper to gently sand the repair compound to level it with the surrounding surface.
    7. Clean the area again with a clean, dry cloth.
It is important to note that the repair may not be completely invisible and some scratches may be more difficult to repair than others. It is always recommended to consult the manufacturer’s recommendations.
