I'm planning to fit 6mm plywood to one of my bedroom floors before getting underlay and carpets fitted. I've never done this before, so I'm looking for some advice on how this should be done when carpet grippers are to be fitted. Would you normally fit the plywood right up to the skirting board and the grippers would be fitted on top, or leave a gap between the plywood and skirting, so that the grippers are fitter in the gap?
