Laid a conservatory today in spacia wide plank traditional oak. A lot of the planks were slightly bent. I had them up against my straight edge to check, so I used them near the end of the job and had to force them in bit. Happened a few times before with spacia planks. Not as well made as they used to be.
Had a lot of bad spacia bent, backing sticking out past the wear layer which has to be trimmed off, also ends of planks not cut square I really don't like laying the stuff at the moment
I know, I agree. I talked the women into spacia rather then van gogh as well Wish I hadn't now. Had to run the back of knife on a few ends to get rid of little gaps.
Most of the time it's the ends of the boards I find the corners touch and the middle bows in only by a mill or so but if you get 2 planks the same end on together it looks really bad
i use spacia almost everyday, doesnt matter if its the grey back or black back most of it is bowed, did another warm maple one yesterday with bows in the middle of 3mm, last week same colour 30 meters with no bevel on any. quality stuff
I was goin to send it back but the new stuff would properly be the same. Why do amtico put there name to it.
i think the bowing is more to do with storage or thats what amtico say, not getting you when you say cool them
ha-ha, you know, i read it about 5 times thinking is he having a laugh and then though maybe he knows something i dont.
