Wouldn't prime and use ps. But it's good to prime with acrylic addy. Makes transfer much better.
Trowel marks = late placement . Get it down while still wet and give it a good roll. Use primer on top of screed it really helps.
Yeah I'd defo do that then. I think it's the neatest way of doing it , plus you get a great grab on ply don't you so edges will stick well too.

Could be a subfloor problem , bouncing floorboards working ply loose, poor quality ply, not feathered ply properly, ive even seen fiters use...
Do you mean its going off on the subfloor too quickly? Do your lads prime before they screed?

I do plenty of these in schools i use either t400 dim strips 2m lengths pr dim strip on a roll depending on thickness of carpet or carpet tile ....
