That would be the Crain hand stretcher, basically it stretches the carpet where you can't get fit your stretcher in. Hope that explains it.

I use hot melt alot but it aint the strongest fix, been told if you use the proper hot melt primer adhesive it holds the gripper to the floor...

I use scissors to cut any excess off when underlaying and cut in with my knife. I sometimes cut my carpet joins with scissors if I have got time!
