Best thing is to do is start again! Shit i know but trouble free ..scabble the asphalt - use ardex to repair cracks do moisture test ! If all good dpm with fball screed then fit new tiles ,, but if the dpm reading comes back high youve either got broken pipe or theres a river running under your house , sorry for bad spelling

How many times have heard we've done hundreds of these without a problem. If that's true which I don't believe there's always a first time. You say your in Norfolk Sarah, are you near the broads or a river?

Why is it mind blowing ?
That is one of the first questions I ask
when im doing my site assessments and if the customer is unsure of the age of the property I do some investigation and find out o_O

Doing a damp test on a floor with no DPM is a waste of time really as you might get a false reading.

If house is built before 1965 it won't have a DPM so either new sub floor or use epoxy DPM
Houses between 1965 and mid 70 need looking at as most of them won't have one either.
Round my way I deal with these sub floors more then any others I find.

Floor I measured today was built 1970 he said.
Karndean has been down 7 years
He has no DPM I now know and has been lucky the Karndean has stayed down that long.

A sheet membrane on a roll as opposed to a liquid.

What makes it mechanical? It just that I have never heard of a mechanical DPM.
