Can't remember the ratio, but mostly use a universal course saw, it's handy to have an offcut of mdf or thick ply, big enough to kneel on to hold in place, use it as a guide for your line, it will make sure your line is straight, there's no chance of the saw accidentally jumping off the line and marking the floor and reduce the chance of splintering the edge
