Not quite what i expected when he(customer)told me that over the phone lol The customer didnt seem bothered by the ripples, bumps, bits of gripper underneath or the slashed skirtings etc! Just asked to have the join done! Gave him some new gripper and fixed the rest for the poor guy in the end.
That would be letting him off lightly. there was 2 kids under 5 and a dog in the house. We can all have a laugh at his work but this could have caused a serius injury!
Im struggling to come up with answer as to WHY would he even go the extreme and do what he did! whats the reason he used the nails/screws in the first place... No tape, no glue.....no qualification!
Maybe he never thought it would move after the customer Ran henry over it, thats if it would have past it. hoover hurdles!
I'm not laughing mate. That is disgusting work. Needs to be struck of my builder. Wonder if you could forward the pics to them.
As far as im aware joints are sposed 2 be at least the width of the planks apart. Gives it a better look on the finished project aswell.
Also 2 big knots next to each other. Always try to not have a plank the sme as another close. It was a row I put in to stop customer walking on glue edge as I'd finished for the day.
Some terrible wood and laminate fitting ! Also the t&g wood wasn't glued on the joints. The "carpenter" that fitted it is adamant that's how it's done !!
Well I bow down to the chippy who knows how to fit floors better than a floorlayer, if thats the way its done then ive been doing it wrong all these years.
