Creaks when I step on floorboards (just overboarded with 6mm ply)

    Nothings impossible, yeah it might be a ballache and create a load of mess but it'll be even more so a headache everytime you walking in there and it sounds like your ankles need a spray of wd40 o_O

    now the popping sound seems gone; I've walked upstairs a few time today...

    Maybe it's just when its alot cooler (cold) that it creaks then

    Are you sure it wasn’t where the self levelling compound had set and was cracking where you were walking on it? That will eventually go away. You have a timber floor with flex in it and a rigid self levelling compound over it. If the screws have missed the subfloor or the leveller has got into some pockets it might be causing it?

    no, it was popping before there was any self levelling compound over it, I can assure; the SLC hasn't changed things

    You could try pinpointing whereabouts it creaks, then putting extra scews in that area, but use longer screws

    Would it help if I pre-drill, inject some pva and then insert the screw?
