a reply from sid bourne.... 'Providing your subfloor was smooth, then a DPM followed by smoothing compound is fine. If the subfloor was rough then smoothing compound, then dpm then smoothing compound. The reason being the DPM should be applied to a smooth surface if the surface is rough the dpm may well not cover the full surface.' The subfloor the builder laid looked similar to what they put on top before realising they needed to dpm
And did they check what exactly the screed the builder put down was and if it was bonded ? You can’t just put any screed on top of another
Jesus You can’t put a water based screed under a DPM ( not that they used one ) or on a damp floor It will break down over time or sometimes over night
Can you put up some pics of your floor we need to see this ? Close ups around the edges would be good
Holly crapolly this just gets worse and worse. Please can everyone on here pray for this floor....it’s gonna need it lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
To be honest I can’t see the pictures through Tapatalk. Just sounds all wrong from the start. But many a Floorlayer has got away with all wrong and you could be ok. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
