Hi guys, I need some advice. At the moment I only fit carpets so use an indicative damp meter just to make sure there’s no major issues. I want to get something that confirms to BS. From memory that has to be a meter that is either left in place for 72+ hours or you drill and probe? Am I right? What meters are good to make sure I’m testing correctly for fitting wood/lvt, etc
I use it all the time. Very handy bit of kit but it has its limits Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So it will give you a reasonably good result on checking a screened floor for moisture rather than having to drill a probe or putting a box down Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk
Well I’ve found loads of dodgey sections in subfloors with it. Very good for hidden old exterior walls where the builder has gone over and taken out the dpc and not used a dpm. Will tell you when old floors are damp. I did have a strange reading the other day. New liquid screed was reading dry with the Wolff meter as it had been baked in the hot weather. When I drilled and probed it the reading was in the 90s. I’ve found a dry levelling compound can give a false dry reading. Basically you want to chip off the top surface before you scan something. Also has a wood option. Not as accurate as a pin meter but does give a indicator Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Use as an indicator on where to drill don’t use them for accurate readings. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
