    Hi gang

My kitchen floor is old, cold and a bit knackered and I'm after some guidance with my proposed refurb if you'd be so kind.
The old floor is ceramic tiles poorly bedded onto a block and beam floor, and my intention is to LVT it.

I intend to ping off the tiles that are barely bonded, smash off the few that are actually stuck properly, then clean up the adhesive back to the block and beam screed.
My plan then is to lay 6mm thermo type boards (glass reinforced cement faced polystyrene thingies) onto a thin bed of tile adhesive and put an SLC layer on top for the LVT.
Will the thermoboard make much difference even?

I only have about 10-12mm depth to play with, that being the existing tile and adhesive plus a ~4mm step to adjacent floors.
Is my plan likely to work? say 3mm adhesive 6mm board and 3mm SLC?
Anyone recommend an SLC that'll be happy at 3mm, or am I mad to try and insulate and just go with a deep pour of SLC?

    Thanks
