We're in the process of laying a laminate floor (Dalby Oak from Homebase) an having got halfway through, we're seeing a huge difference in finish between one set of boards and another, so that half the floor looks glassy and the other half sort of satin. Homebase say this should just even out over time, and if it doesn't it's guaranteed for a year so we can get a refund, but obviously you can't simply take a floor back to the shop and get a replacement. Has anyone else had this experience, or know anything about it?
Most likely a different batch, before you go any further, be aware, yes they will guarantee the floor and replace it, but it's unlikely they will pay for any Labour involved
Go back and tell them straight you are 'having' full replacement, that looks crap! Just kick off in store and they'll cater for you. Refuse to go anywhere till you have confirmation you'll get refund/replacement. Speaking from my own experience with these idiots
Definitely different batches, it’s a grey area really the store and yourself are both at fault as both should have checked the batch numbers before accepting the order. Be nice and hope they can come to some kind of arrangement, they actually have no responsibility to rectify this since you should have checked before opening any packs and no guarantees or warranties cover this.
