Manufactures doing the odd demo's. FloorSkills might do the odd demo by request but it depends on what the request is ! We are going to play the day out. Next year will have our apprentices doing demos to show off what they have learnt and can do. Sadley they are not ready yet as apprenticeship only quarter of the way through.
Great day today. Good to meet up with a few new forum members and some old ones. Got a few tools off Mario as well an nice to finally meet mate after talking alot. Good to see spotnails and thank them to the face for the new spotnailer them sent me last year as my old one broke. Also learn more about insterlay and what it can or can't do. Wanted to buy some snickers shorts but not much stock so hopefully the new forum trade shop can sort that out.
Cheers Matt, Dave, Dan and the rest of the team. Great day, good to put faces to names and chat to the guys on the stands. (Not a good start or Merrit though) Andrew from Tramex was really impressive, knows his stuff although it'll take me a while to decipher and take in what he said. Got some good contacts, opened a new account and details for a few more. (Bag of freebies too) Thanks Floorskills.
Here's a pic of the opening and the floorskills team. Also thanks Pete for taking the time to show me your grinder and other bits. Very helpful mate.
Yes well done Matt. I'd just like to echo what the lads have already said, it was a great day. I didn't really know what to expect but it turned out like a mini flooring show - for your lot to organise something like that was a superb achievement. Good to meet up with everyone and to watch Dans eyes glaze over at the mere mention of the word BEER!! Thanks again Matt.
Thanks all for the work put in for making today(yesterday now) happen, good to meet Matt, Dave, Daz and Coolville (briefly)
Good time was had by all, thanks Matt and everybody else who helped set up and thanks to all that came.. Good to put faces to names too..
Yeah good day....word of warning, don't try parking your van on Trimmers drive after working all night, even of he does warn you about the tree stump, boooo. Good to meet every1, funny how I know most of the people I'm talking to but don't know its them!? Had a bit of a dry throat on the way home, what happend to that beer?
eh? i know i was there in spirit lol but my corporeal form couldnt make it, will be there next week tho!
Congratulations to Matt, Dan, Dave and all the other who helped organised a great day but also helped getting you guys recognised as a first class training centre. Nice to see some new friends from the flooring world and put names to the posts. Hope there's an annual thing sorted out in the diary! Made a few good contacts that hopefully pays off in the coming months and years. My nephew is really excited about starting his apprenticeship after seeing what can be done, and after speaking to all the friendly people there. Thanks again, and for the beers Matt ;-)
Yes mate, when Daz said Steve from the forum I was thinking ok but what's his name on the forum? I was a bit slow yesterday, I'm trying to blame it on lack of sleep!
Well done to Matt and his team for hosting yesterdays open day at The FloorSkills Centre, good show, lovely weather and very well supported by lots of friendly flooring people.
did we speak?? perhaps just like merit, stood there and spoke for a good 15mins and he didn't know who I was..lol
Thanks very much everyone that came along and helped out. By the time we cleared up my B'day party ended up being a load of beer sat in carpark of floorskills LOL . That was until Sid decided he would drive the forklift truck over the top of my mothers garden furniture we had borrowed. Cant remember getting home but do recall being sat in the passenger seat of a Bentley Arnarge Turbo at some point ! (thanks for the lift Chris )
