On a separate note.....how does a little known company like distinctive flooring (mflor) go about getting an account with the big guns?
We've only got one guy whose job is solely related to quality and we have around 70 live sites running at any one time, so he does struggle to see everything that goes on. I agree that it's vital the right materials are specified and the site properly surveyed before the fitters arrive and if there was any issues relating to that, then it would be down us to sort out. There has been the odd occasion where, for example, latex has been overwatered, insufficient expansion gaps allowed within timber floor installs, nosings just gripfilled and not drilled and plugged, etc - it's sometimes difficult to spot this sort of thing on completion.
Hi, To alleviate the problem with grippfill you could always consider Flexyfix adhesive... http://www.tradediscountshop.co.uk/?s=flexyfix&post_type=product&submit.x=6&submit.y=7 If you require a site visit I can arrange that for you...
Thanks, we do use Flexyfix as it happens, I was just giving a few examples of previous issues. Best thing I've found for fixing nosings is 3M VHB tape btw
We've used the 1.1mm thick foam and the RP to good effect. Nope, it isn't cheap - downright bloody expensive! but it's never failed on us (touch wood) and is so clean and easy to use, we don't use anything else on metal stairs.
Steve, you are obviously not experienced in the real world and how day rate, contracts etc work. You also have many fitters working on M2, a lot of them set a target at say 100 sq a day. When they have put down enough sq,m for mortgage money and a few beers they are done, they dont care if job completed on time or not. They dont feel the need to do any more that day even if the contract is falling behind on time. When they return the next day the total Sq'm has not changed? bit like you at CR, you take out your days work, how come you dont take out a extra HSL or 3 to do ? Because you want to go home maybe? O and Amazingly " whilst in my training centre everyday " i some how know how things work, maybe because i have been there and done it. Maybe because IM still doing it, going to sites to spec, going to sites to help start off flooring teams, Visiting sites to complete flooring reports etc. I think you are mixed up on your comment above, i think you mean your comment makes no sense!
You can pm me the price you're getting it at and I'll see if I can do better for you, do you still drill and plug then?
