Trying to get a customer to pay for a correct job is ridiculous, when i go to measure up i always ask if i can lift the flooring and some floorboards to assess the strength of the joists if im doing a laminate or solid, but christ if you tell them they need their joists laminating for strength and the floor boarding for joint integrity, they look at you as if you're trying to rob them. But they still want me to guarantee the work and expect the product to be under warrantee. B&Q, Floors to Go, Carpet Shite and others have royally screwed up the industry through complete incompetance. their staff haven't got a clue they'll sell any old crap product and promise them the world, but without even checking they will be under warrantee.
