Sorry mate, only just read this. A hygrometer reads the amount of moisture is LEAVING a subfloor. A carbide bomb, tramex ect reads how much moisture IS IN the subfloor. if a hygrometer is telling you it has moisture coming out of it , well yes it does. Dont believe manufacturer claims unless they test for moisture themselves and put in writting. As for Tarmex, carbide bomb test etc, well these can be fooled on a subfloor with drying agents in it. The moisture is still in the subfloor put its being trapped. Also, if a drying agent has been used it needs to be removed. Not sure how you do that !
