Trouble is that if you are experienced in this field (thats not a farming term) then you will be inclined to use other techniques/adhesives as i would do just by reading the methods as shown within this forum and you know that no problems should arise. It seems that problems with the actual products are only just arising of late.I dont ever remember any shrinkage probs or wear layers giving issues ie AMTICO-SPACIA apparently has wear layer problems. Is the manufacturing changing for these?.I have seen samplebooks in the past ie Madrid was a regular contender in the past for samplebooks being more dense than the actual carpet and customers pointed this out(sorry its carpet and not smooths) but an example of things changing to give us problems.
went to see a customer just now where i fitted 2 boxes da vinci on the 45 with a border it has shrunk everywhere and i mean everywhere i used f44 cos i was in a fix couldnt get pressure adhesive till the following day which was unsuitable to client anyway will try and get pics if possible but im thinking of just replacing at my own cost or would you lads contact karndean especially if you havent used there adhesive?????????????
Not using their adhesive makes it much easier for them to knock you back, we used to use F44 on loads of Karndean installations without any problems. But since they changed the way karndean is made it is in my opinion much more unstable and liable to shrinkage, You can say you have used their adhesive as it is only 2 boxes as as far as I am concerned the product should not be shrinking as it does. F44 is a good adhesive so does that make the adhesive faulty. What area was the floor fitted and was it close to french doors large windows etc..
Correct me if im wrong but did karndean adhesives belong to uzin?.And are they not made by fballs now?!.Men apparently shrink when they get older (no offence ALAN)hAPPY BIRTHDAY BY THE WAY(AGAIN).
guys, can i recomened you buy one of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Non-Contact-Infra ... 3efcd3b779 start to take temperature readings of your floors and make a note so can see what differences in temperature the product/subfloor have between each other. If you start taking the temp of the product, temp of the subfloor, temp of the glue and temp of the room your working in you will be able to see if you "may" be heading for trouble. Lvt products need to be slightly cooler than the room/subfloor before you install. Take the temps before you fit may just save the flooring from shrinking. IF a floor shrinks after you fit the floor and you have a record of the temp before you fitted then you will know if its a product problem or is Mrs Jones has made a big change to how the room was heated etc. If your LVT tile is the same temp or higher than when you fitted then it may well be the product. If the product is alot colder than when you installed then the product will try and shrink. I think you all need to make sure that it is not changes in temp that are causing the issues.
it was a utility room i did the lounge and kichen areas are spot on thats why i cant understand why this has occured in this one area will order one tonight matt always on the look out for new products/tools to make life easier and save customers moaning
i have ordered one of the ones on the link i put up. Guess as from "hong kong " it will take 7+ days to get here. However i have a u.k version of the same product that cost a few hundred quid. Let me compare the hong kong product against the u.k product to check it gives the same reading! i will update the thread when i know.
With it being a utility room are there any washing machines/dryers used in there? I have seen this happen where the customer used two clothes dryers and there karndean shrunk Hippyfitter
as far as same/diff batch numbers go i had an issue last year(dont time fly) and karndean said that differing batches wasnt an issue just the fact that they (kdean) can find out when and where the goods were sold so it shouldnt make a difference to mix em up!,so they say,,too much politics.
