Hi All, Doing my hall this weekend (ply, then Karndean Knight). Tomorrow is trying to sort the floor (Chipboard). If the there are any areas I can't get flat, is it OK to use Karndean Skimcoat beneath the ply (as well as on top)? If not, what else can I do to get the chipboard as good as possible for the ply-ing? Thanks
Thanks again, Spacey. It felt like " no reason why not" (it's not as if it ain't built to take weight). I realise I have to get it totally feathered, so I don't get voids under the ply. Anyway, I should have plenty of the stuff - in theory Yes, my 1st choice is to get it sanded to flat. Problem is, the ply has a few dodgy joins, and buggered screw heads........deep joy. BTW, I dunno how you boys can do this for a living - it's murder on the knees; even with pads! (Cue Paul Whitehouse: "It's a young man's game....hardest job in the world".)
Add it to your sign off Plus " I may be on my knees, but I'm looking up at the stars" That's enough from me....off to bed......and my nightmares about doing the bloody skimcoat. Have a top weekend, all,
I’ll dream about the 15 boxes of VanGogh (on ke66) I’m laying 2moro on the 16 sheets of ply and skim coat I fitted 2day Early finish
