Likely or unlikely to contain asbestos

    Lino is safe (as far as im aware). From what you describe it sounds like lino.

    However, certain adhesives can contain asbestos. The adhesive that is used to stick lino does not tho. That is providing the floorlayer used the correct adhesive.

    am no asbestos specialist but i think you are fine. To my knowledge linoleum is made up of renewable materials.
