Hello I’d like to apply a liquid DPM to the existing floor. Either going to use Blackjack DPM or Sika Rapid DPM. The existing floor is made up of concrete, screed, asbestos tiles fixed using bitumen. I presume I need to get the tiles removed, but can the liquid DPM laid on top of the existing bitumen coated screed or does it need to go on the concrete? Cheers
Also, the floor is a tad defective where it meets the wall in places. Plan to remove the crumbled screed etc and repair, although what is the best material for repairing?
Take up any tiles Grind off loose adhesive & any smoothing compound Apply 1 coat of ardex NA screeding compound 1 coat ardex DPM1c
Thanks for the prompt message Dazlight. Due to time and £, is there any liquid DPM on market that would be suitable to go straight on top of the existing screed, rather than having to take off the existing? Cheers
If it’s a floating floor you will have a good chance of it being ok with a Dpm straight over the sub floor. But as I said a coat of smoothing compound 1st
