Its looking level and smooth, our luxury vinyl flooring is laid using the same as the technique as laminate options in that its loose laid creating a floating floor.

so i went with quickstep in the end. looks really good, seems pretty tough (i was changing the blade on my chopsaw, and dropped it from about a meter onto the floor, then rolled all around the room....no damage in the end, but a lot of swearing!)

macky...i was told i would have to put down 6mm ply first on top of the already pretty smooth floor - is that right or not?

was told lvt needed 6mm ply on top of nice flat chipboard, or laminate (with some underlay) straight on top. tbh,m the creo quickstep laminate is very tough and seems to be really good, and very cheap, on sale it was £12 quid / sqm.
