Alright lads, I’m wanting to set some accounts up I’m based in Hartlepool so if use can give me some advice on the best manufactures to get accounts with that would be great. Also I’m just wanting to start off by selling from the van so do you need to pay for sample books or are they free? I know you need to pay for stands but my own shop and everything will still be a good few years away. Just want to build my own business up for now whilst doing a few days here and there for some shop. Cheers for any advice.

Get a couple of headlam accounts. Alvin Morris , LGS prob good for you.
You want 3 of them if you can. Then you get price lists off em all.

Local wholesalers are also good for a start up. Always competitive on underlays bars screeds and adhesives.
Kingsmead has been a good account for me. Lots of good products and good service. I’ve had accounts with some manufacturers but their service was so bad I prefer to buy from good wholesalers instead
