Parquet straight to skirtings

just out of curiosity.
What way would you scribe or mark a parquet tile straight to skirtings when laid in herringbone?

 

You have to make a template that covers the distance from the two furthest points of the herringbone pattern from left to right, or top to bottom. Use a spare larger plank or tile that’ll cover the size, not the one your fitting. Does that make any sense

 

template with some paper and use a guillotine? sounds like a pita
