Hi Spacey The LION Floor is available in a 4.8mm and 6mm, the 6mm is extremely dense and would be used in place of a 9mm ply Hope this helps
Good guide ply is a minefield these days with the same supplier varying from week to week.Out of curiosity does anyone lay ply and apply feather finish or like the firm that I work for do you screed over every ply as my m8 who couldn't lie straight in bed says that the lvt manufacturers say you should screed over every ply....
You should really, especially if your using Amtico. In direct light ply will show through even if you feather it unless it’s flat as a snooker table and your ply is amazing quality. Depends on the area, customer expectation and LVT Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I dont like screed on ply unless I really have to It all depends how good you are feathering your ply seams
I know this is an old thread now but can I just double check that the only grades of Plywood we should use for BS is SP101 or FG!? Spacey mentioned Birch as well but is that still current?
Hi guys, For a LVT (Solent, Boulevard) A new 18mm plywood deck is being placed over joists. Should the plywood be SP101 or FG1? Aiming to lay straight on top, no screed/latex. OK, if its Tongue and Groove? Thanks
Both are flooring grade. Would be cheaper to just use standard ply and 6mm flooring grade over the top? It will have to be t and g or the joins will move unless your going to have joists and battens beneath all joins?
is SP101 the same or equivalent as a timber merchants "exterior" ply" needed for a full stick LVT job?
Hi guys, I cant seem to get hold of FG1 or Sp101 unless its at silly money. I have heard (I'm sure on this forum) that i can use Malaysian ply as a subfloor under 14mm Solid Oak Herringbone planks. It will be going on top of the standard 18mm tongue and groove floor boards. If not i have also found 'another' brand of Flooring Grade plywood but cant see it mentioned in general.... Please see attached screen shots i anyone can help me choose which is a good alternative..
