    Hi,

I currently have timber laminate through hallway and kitchen/diner. It's 9 years old, looking shabby and the joints have blown due to dishwasher and washing machine leaks. I'm looking at replacing with LVT as I understand better for Kitchen environments. Issue is with lots of fitted cabinets, breakfast bar etc the floor needs to be at the same level or we are going to need new end panels, kick panels etc.

Looking at the difference between the timber laminate and underlay vs LVT and underlay it's 10-12mm. Subfloor is concrete so adding a bit of insulation might be good. Wedi board was an idea. Any other suggestions?

    Thanks

    Jay

    Uplift laminate

    9mm smoothing compound

Then 2.5-3mm thick stick down LVT

LVT is naturally warmer and quieter than laminate

Another option, there are metal trims available, that slide on to the bottom of end panels etc.

Jumpax or simlar should be a last resort if theres no other options There more expensive than traditional prep Take twice aslong to lay and swell up when water gets underneath

Thats your opinion but you can prep and fit on the same day. They will only fail if a water leak gets under it but so will a water based screed and lvt and every other type of floor except a ceramic tile. Plus the subfloor you end up with is perfect
