Thanks for your replies! Don't you think Spring Oak is a bit to shinny? I'm a bit worried that in time it will show wear more if you know what I mean..

Spring oak is lovely but if you don't want that glossy look go for the VanGogh it has a more mat finish but still has that great wood look

So glad I don't have to re rout all the tongue and groove on my engineered wood flooring before I fit it. It's just made right.

Opus tiles with are a pain in the ass, its only made less stressful without using their shit micro bevelled plastic crap that supposed to go with it. Way to much time on your hands rebevelling and paid to much!! Fair play to you though

I just use their standard grout strip and so much easier to fit. Another bonus is they are big fcuk so covers area quickly so I can get far away from them as possible

Doesn't actually take that long to rebevel tiles or planks, obviously depends how big the job is, but people seam to have a fear of the word and then time and money are always mentioned ? Its much more than that It's taking pride in your work to get the best possible results which in turn leaves a lasting impression on your customers and ultimately leads to more work and just as important imo job satisfaction

I wouldnt be doing the extra bevelling for the shops I do work for. Don't care what anyone says, im not hanging around for a free extra half day faffing around rebevelling shit tiles and getting nothing out of it. I'd rather fit a better product which is why I dont push the opus tile effect to my own customers. Customer won't know any difference anyway with regards to you having to do what the manufacturer should have done in the first place and make the damn things the same size at least....or do you actually tell them "some of these tiles are poor so what I'm going to do is reshape all the damn things to match a different strip so they look better for you so you can go and tell your friends and family that you know a floor layer that uses shit tiles and makes them good with his special tool" o_O

Only way I'm satisfied is when I don't have to fit them. I take pride in my work but having to go that extra and actually make the tile fit better by spending more time trying to make good other than actually fitting a tile is where I draw the line. Not saying they are always that bad but opus tile effect are the most I have to battle with.

I'm starting to think you actually work for Karndean. Their employees also say things like, no we have never had a problem with any of our tiles, no we have never had a problem with any of our grout. It's people like you that keep that shit coming out the factory, shame on you.

It's just I fit it every day I know there are some issues with certain things but opus isn't one of them If I have an issue I deal with it . Like recutting Mflor or Spacia planks coz the headers don't but up or beveling exponia coz the edges don't sit flush and leave a raised edge or run a blade down the edge of hundredsome of Amtico strips coz theyou won't pull apart or dowsing LG with petrol and setting it a blaze
    What ever sorts it

Spacey.., you mentioned LG.. I've only installed it once.., have to say it's the worst product I've seen....
Never really had issues with Opus.. Only issue I've had with Karndean was the Kalidoscope range..., a lot of planks were cut fractionally wrong., however, as you said, you put them right.. (you have to, they take 6 weeks from order to delivery).
Some may or may not be aware, it's not Karndean that cut this range., it's a firm called Laser Point, who have a factory on the Karndean site.
