Hi Forum, just pulled up carpet tiles from old floorboard floor and am left with large areas of sticky residue.

Any ideas on how to remove, so I can paint the floor boards instead?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks Russell

    How sticky we talking?

May be less stress to replace the floorboards, tacky can be a nightmare to rid especially to get it good enough to paint but if its patchy and not so sticky then get sanding and chuck some fine grit in with it....prob lose most of the grit down the cracks though o_O

I'd just change the boards only because I'm impatient

Punch all the nails down and use a diamabrush.

Can't touch boards,it's a rented unit, but Thanks, I read somewhere, putting Flour on the tackifier can neutralise it, then try and scrape/ polish off?
