Just looked at a engineered wood floor with a very weak natural oil finish. Been down a year and looks awful. Every drip of water stains it. I just put some maintenance oil on a test area and it stripped the colour off!! Anyone seen this happen Before? I think I’m looking at a full sand back, re stain with Rubio or bona create and lacquer. Any other suggestions that might work?

Tried a hard wax oil and it did the same. Stripped the colour out of the finish on a sample board!

Maybe a barrier seal followed by lacquer
