I'd rather be using the kool glide these days after I found out what lethal toxins are in that heatseam tape adhesive the chemicals in that are carsonagenic and proven killers.

Already done that and its not a problem, the only trouble would be is servicing and voltage we would all need a transformer plus whos gonna stock the tape and glue sticks other wise theres no point gettin one if we can't get the tape.

Thats a shame as they are running a competition at the moment on their tapes and if you have the winning roll of tape you get a Harley.
I have chatted to Len Perkins the guy reasponsable for the Kool Glide and his words were he won't ship it to the UK market cause after showing it to the NICF they said no they won't endorse the use of it and said it would never take off, with that he felt they were a bunch of old farts that won't move with the times and had a big fall out with them. How true that is I don't know could just be hear say but that was what he said. There was something to do with someone wanting exclusivity as well which he would not give one person or company exclusivity over his product.

Load of rubbish Jay, the NICF loved the koolglide and at harrogate a couple of years ago it was demoed all day long on stickatak stand by Tim. Tim is one of Council at NICF and also a trainer at FITA. It was last left with them to produce a 240volt one but we are still waiting !

Well thats what he's saying so theres some crossed wires there then.
And why do we need a 240 one when the 120 will run off a 110 transformer why complicate matters in wanting a 240 one lets just accept it in 120 and most of us have access to a 110 transformer.
Last year whilst visiting friends and family there I purchased 2 electric staple guns much cheaper than the spotnails ones and they work on 110 so they will double up for site work, also nearly bought the koolglide but ended up getting another heat seam iron and that to works on 110.
Stuff everyone else I'm gettin one when I go out there for christmas and I'll speak to Len Perkins when I pay him a visit at the surfaces event in vegas on January.

Jay, i know we had a issue with the transformers keep blowing up. I think something to do with the Hz that the irons run on.

I myself would be happy with a 110v if thats all thats avalible. 240volt would obviously be a lot more sutible for most floorlayers tho.

I think we've gone off topic enough now Matt, but I do agree a 240v one would be more usefull. NZ and Auz run on 220v so it can't be far off 220v should run ok off 240v most electrical appliances now say 220v - 240v.

Matt I've spoken with Len Perkins of Kool Glide and he assures me there are no power issues now, they now supply a transformer with the kool glide for NZ and Auz and have one ready for the uk, to get it into europe and the uk they are looking for a reliable and competent distributor to take it on board and cover the warranty and servicing jointly with them.

Thats good news. The service bit maybe a issue for most disturbers tho?

Do they want a sole distributor?

Maybe you can PM me contact details for him and i can help them out?

Be great to get this in the u.K.
