There seems to a lot misconceptions /rumours about fitting sisal I think alot of it comes from people who have never fitted it because in reality it is not difficult.I open out and leave lose and fit and glue the next day because the glue dries around the edge and then the ends don't stick if glued the day before
I just cut in free hand with A Concave blade without any issues and when i do stairs the hardest part is keeping the lines straight on the nosing never needed to staple onto the gripper

@simmo. I've never used a bit of lvt behind the sisal to cut in either or stapled the gripper but if I can improve the way I fit or I find I haven't done it the best way I'll adapt. I also assumed that you left the sisal open so if it was going to shrink it would but the alternative rep said if its going to shrink it will happen when it contacts with the glue not just being left open.

Btw if you lay it on system 10 you will need to stick the underlay down, think there is a note in the rolls saying so, I presume the glue may cause the underlay to suck in.
I have fitted many the same day with no issues( delivered day before tho ), but if I can leave it to the following day its safer and also I find its so much easier cutting in as the sisal stays firm ,cant see how you would leave a stairs to following day tho ?
