I wouldn't waste your time with HT adhesive...it doesn't work. If your lvt is going to shrink it will.

Yep, there is TWO reasons why LVT shrinks. Glue will not stop the two reasons.

Interesting, i'm from a technical background myself but i didnt realise floor laying was so scientific, i'm genuinly very interested in this now! Will try n get a moisture meter tomorrow and check the ply is close to subfloor level. Luckily i have had a dehumidifier on in the downstairs of the house for the last 2 weeks, as i was worried about the doors warping after the plastering was done, so the subfloor should be pretty dry. Boiler and rads will be finished tomorrow too so heating will go on. Think i'll crank the heating for a few days before i do the feather coat to allow for any initial movement.

I'm a bit p/o'd i have done half the living room already with the cheap ply, i think it is far eastern ply at least but i dont trust the laminate at all, as some sheets were already delaming and i could pick off the top layer with my thumb nail at least the screw heads are a decent size to help prevent any delam. Am on a quality ply mission first thing tomorrow.....Thanks for the explanation for the P121 as well

Hi all, revisiting an old post as I never did get round to posting photos, and a couple of people asked for them (hoping it would be a bodge up I presume...) I was told I would get gaps, lifting, shrinking etc etc....leave it to the pros etc etc..... well I can now safely say we've lived in the house for over a year through summer and winter and the floor still looks mint, no gaps anywhere. My house is now up for sale so you can view the photos of the floor if you wish. Karndean living room, hall and WC, Amtico with feature strips in the kitchen. All flooring bought cheap on ebay and laid by an OCD DIYer. It was a mission however and i would certainly think again if you don't have a lot of patience and cut corners :)

got any better photos? cant really tell one way or the other to be honest as the photos are of the rooms and not the floors, only thing I noticed was the layout in the kitchen is wrong as you have a 2 (circa) inch cut tile along the kickboard with the washing machine and 14 inch (circa) of a tile on the opposite side which stands out more than normal as its a 18 inch tile you have used, looks like you took a full tile off a wall somewhere by my eye in the dining room picture which also looks like it possibily has a lump under the tile behind the chair with the natural light coming in, other than that looks alright for a diy job from the pictures ;)
